Chairman - Chris Brooks - September 2010 August has been a very quiet month for us on the classic car scene and I am looking forward to September as it is a lot busier.
We didn’t have a committee meeting in August as several of us were unable to make that Wednesday. We have settled in at our new location for the committee meetings at the Elsie Fisher Room which is located at St Lawrence Church 167 Bury Street, Ruislip. Don’t forget that if at any time you would like to come to a committee meeting as a visitor to see what we do just give me a ring and you will be more than welcome. The meeting is held on the second Wednesday of every month from 8pm except December.
Last months club night was a talk about National Service by Jim Cumings which was very amusing but I am glad that I was too young to be called up, although most people say its what turns a boy into a man. The raffle raised £54.00 for club funds and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the members who regularly contribute prizes, it really is most generous of you all. The 100 club draw was won by Peter Goudie who will get a cheque for £30.00.
We haven’t yet come up with any alternative to raise money for club funds when the 100 club finishes at the end of this year. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas for something new to replace it I would be really pleased to hear from you.
.
Chris Brooks
